Field Traning Swap Card

I am off to Wellington tonight for Field Training with Stampin' Up!. It is so much fun getting together with other demos and one of my favourite activites is swapping cards. This is the card I have made to swap tonight, well, one of a pile LOL.

This is a lot simpler than it looks. The centres of the flowers have been stitched with a thin strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock, I left one end of the 'thread' long and it is the stem. The stitching holes were easy to put in using the mat pack.

The main card is a normal A5 sheet of cardstock folded the opposite the 'wrong' way, the square tent topper makes this card the perfect size to fit in a DLE envelope.

Stamps: Fresh Cuts

Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip

Ink: Sahara Sand, Riding Hood Red

Accessories: Old Olive Brad, Mat Pack

Colour Inspiration Challenge #31

Another fabulous colour challenge, if you want to play along click on the title of this post and it will take you straight to Kristina's challenge page.

I love the colours, but I don't have any Pumpkin Pie or Elegant Eggplant card or ink - what is a girl to do? Why, use my Stampin' Pastel's of course! With these I have ALL the Stampin' Up! colours so there is no excuse not to play.
I decided to use Poppin' Pastels technique to add the colour to the background (Pumpkin Pie) and the "frond" images (Elegant Eggplant). Lots of piercing, sponging and cutting later, this is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy it.

Stamp Sets: Looks Like Spring, Petal Prints, Polka Dots and Paisley
Card: So Saffron, Close To Cocoa, Whisper White
Ink: So Saffron, Basic Brown, Versamark
Accessories: Dimentionals, Mat Pack, Spring Flower Bouquet Punch, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Stampin' Pastels, Sponge Dauber

Pastel Workshop Card

A friend of mine bought the pastels and wanted some ideas of how to use them so I came up with this card for her.

I stamped the flower with white craft ink then embossed it with white embossing powder - the fun part was colouring in the flower using a blender pen and the pastels, it really pops on the black card! When we had finished coloring in the flower we quickly zapped it with the heat gun again to set the pastels.

The ribbon started out in life as plain white grossgrain, we staped along the length of it with versamrk ink. chalked up a cotton ball then dabbed it along the length of the ribbon, to get the colour to teally stick we then rubbed the ribbon hard with the cotton ball.

The Scribble Wheel background was coloured using a blender pen and pastels.

All up it quite a simple card to do although a bit time consuming, but I think the results justify the time, and it is so much fun using one colouring medium to get so many different results.
